Lullabies.

All year she waits,
For rain,
Starved grasses,
Yellow-green stains on skin,
Patting palms against,
Them.
Six months away,
From winter,
A summer mild,
But hindered,
Spirits to soar,
As the greens turned to life.
She takes the plane and flees,
There are no birds,
Over here.
Only clouds topple over each other,
Tinted in blues,
Overwhelmed by purples,
Too condensed and pure,
Even colours aren’t sure,
Who they shall be,
As evenings take them away.
She pats her palms,
On windows not to open,
Frost on the outside,
Diffusing to her bone,
But summer dreams,
Across, they nip her away.

You taught me songs,
To hear and listen,
Their melodies subtle,
Emotions riddles,
Like prayers in the dawn,
Faint lines after storms.
She shall see her one true lover,
A decade younger,
A spirit-wonder,
She shall clutch her hand,
Twirl around the floor.
They’re singing all the songs,
That you have taught.

The lover’s eyelids shall flutter,
Good night they’ll speak,
Curtains flicker,
Northern winds blown by
Them northern lights.
Though it’s dark but the nightlights
Never faint.
She’ll put her head on the pillow,
Eye-to-eye,
Browns and emeralds,
She’ll open her mouth,
Stuttering,
A lullaby;
Verses of roses,
Lost at sea.

The lover shall sleep,
Wasting the night,
She shall caress the sheets.
For goodbyes,
Never meant to start,
A story like this.
As so it’s sad,
The tears are ripples,
Tremors sounding,
Shaking the surface,
So they fall,
Streaming like a spring.
This is how her summers,
Always begin.

But she knows returns are easier,
For you are there,
She need not whither,
She need not fear,
She will be alone.
This love she believes,
Was written down at midnight,
A time she bent,
For promises to keep.

The planes will land,
Septembers follow,
Weak in mind,
But heart in vigour,
Love is not confined,
Betwixt airplane rides,
It does not end,
As wheels,
Touch the ground.

The grass of summer,
Shall thrive in the autumn,
Pomegranates,
And them treasured rituals,
Lullabies extended,
In the longer nights.
Till six months pass,
And she is healed,
And airplane rides,
Are flown with ease.

-- inspired by music healing away all the tormenting memories dated back from teary airplane rides and lullabies sung in whispers.
