Learning: A Discovery.

Image
I love what this picture signifies: human beings and the colours of their humanness defining our society. Are we ignorant or deliberately contributing to leaving our imprints so steadily and consciously? One of the disciplines I’m profoundly passionate about is sociology. I studied it at school in eleventh grade and I remember being particularly indulged in learning all about it. I used to write papers and papers discussing sociological phenomena, analysing concepts and assessing their validity. Taking that course at school opened up so many doors of ideas and it did enlighten me to understand society on a deeper level, and with it, humanity. Two weeks ago, I decided I should continue my studies in sociology by self-learning it, alongside an Innovation Management course I highly recommend on Coursera. So, I looked up the A Level syllabus and reviewed the key points I was supposed to search more about. I don’t have the textbook and it’s only available as a preview on the I...

Mysteries.

Image
Still and silent, Star-aligned moon beams, Obscured in densities, Behind morning clouds, Like souls of dreamers, Too young to tread the ground. Muted melodies, Of the waking birds, Singing the possibilities, Gracefully— and as loud, That it pierces dawn, And the sunrise follows. Questions tempt, Overwhelming answers. Gathering crowds, You have no room to enter. Towers of hope, Shall not topple, When your choice, Is to give up. Away, please stay, I need to listen closely. Your voices stir, Fogs instead of dreams. I’m not an atmosphere, But a garden to water, My mind thus needs, Hope— and it shall settle. If for some reason, I choose to slow down, I shall hear the birds, Singing of signs; The mystery of unknown, Lyrics to songs. Yet, there shall be meanings, Unfolding through and through, Finding questions, I will answer them, soon. Lay with me, For the night is warm, I could stay awake, And...

May: Towards The Sun.

A pleasant month, May had been. More precisely, I’d say it had been different in all aspects compared to the last. I’m proud of this realisation for it never crossed my mind that things could get exceptionally better. The weather had been starkly splendid, and because spring arrived early this year , the trees are synchronised in their blossoming competition. The flame trees bloomed in fiery red, reminding me of safety and the process of grounding. This applies to both the pink and golden shower trees, too. You know what? The golden shower trees usually bloom mid-June and I was pleasantly surprised to find their willowy branches budding in hopeful yellow petals. I can’t wait to see them get so abundant and beautiful. I must also mention the wind— the fresh northern wind— which blew ever so gently in the mornings and afternoons, urging me to study and read in the balcony, thanking them for their always-welcomed arrival. It was my last month at work and it all en...
